Craft Olympics 4

Change of plans - my fourth Craft Olympics craft will not be wool appliqué but this Christmas wreath.

It is hanging on our newly (last Summer) painted wall by the door. The red wall makes a better background to the green fir twigs, and I didn't want to hammer a nail to the new door. The green needles remain fresh for quite a long time outdoors.

My last CO project is also finished but it is a Christmas gift so I will show it later. It has been fun making these small projects at the end of the year. Melanie's thimbles are nice trophies for the sidebar.

We have lots of snow so Santa's sleigh will have a good chance to reach every house on time next week. Be nice, the elves are watching you!

  3. A beautiful Christmas wreat. I do love fresh greenery. I have yet to put up our fake wreath. I should put a few bulbs on it or something. Our nail is hammered into the wood that surrounds the window since the door itself is metal.

  5. What a gorgeous wreath, Ulla! I would love to learn how to do that. The wall color is so bright and cheery, too! I hope Santa's sleigh comes by filled with lots of goodies!
    Cheers!

  6. What a lovely christmassy wreath. It looks beautiful with the red wall behind it. I have a star on our door - it is made from dried vines and spray painted silver. I would love a fresh green wreath, but unfortunately it wouldn't last in our summer heat....
I hope Santa brings you some nice things this year. Wishing you and your family a merry christmas. As I am writing this, there are four or five kookaburras 'laughing' in the tree just outside my window. :)

  7. I like the wreath it reminds me of walking through the snow with my father collecting greenery for our home. Here in Australia the temperature is 32C. The grandchildren went for a swim on Sunday. So different.

  8. A beautiful Christmas wreath, a nice finish for the Craft Olympics! Our snow is gone at the moment, maybe some new will come just for Christmas, who knows, that would be lovely.
