The first snow

This morning we woke up with snow on the ground, and it was still snowing a little at eight:

It was not very cold, just about the freezing point so this snow will melt away. Today the sunrise in Helsinki was at 8.32, and the sun will go down at 3.39 p.m. In Northern Finland the sun will rise today at 10.36 a.m. and go down at 1.18 p.m. For a whole month still the days will be shorter and shorter.

  2. That is so beautiful Ulla.

It must be hard to match quilt colours with so little daylight in the Winter months. I've been moaning about the children coming home at dusk (around 4 ish-4:30 here) and leaving in the dark (around 8am).

I think I would get frustrated at such little natural light. Being very disorganised lately (I'm not confessing to being permanently scatty LOL) I've sorted out probable fabrics at night but finalised my decision in the morning in daylight just before class. Cutting it fine I know. :-)

  3. Wow. You need a lot of candles.

What Melanie said is so true.. you just can't match colors good at night.. even with an OTT light.
