Christmas Cards

Yesterday I spent the entire afternoon at the kitchen table crafting. I used three kinds of scissors, lots of glue, rubber stamps and many different papers.

Finally I had the Christmas cards we need. Today I will sign them and take them to the post office. Usually we send self-made cards, but sometimes we buy them from Unicef or the Red Cross, or the children's school fund raising. I think people like home-made cards, and they like making them. In November I was even asked to show a group of young mothers how to make nice cards. It was a fun afternoon, but I didn't get any cards made for myself then as I was busily helping the ladies.

Have you ever made your Christmas cards?

  1. Lovely Ulla! I always seem too frantic at this time of the year and just don't get time.

  2. I like your cards. I used some from the school children this year but one year I made the paper and my daughter used rubber stamps. Great doing family and home made memories.

  3. Handmade cards are little gifts. One year I did make my cards using rubber stamps. I've always loved the handmade cards my children made when they were little.

  4. I must confess that I have not made any Christmas cards. I had a hard time coming up with an idea for a Thank You card. Odd thing was that once I started, I really enjoyed the creative process. Paper has always been one of my favourite mediums.

  5. My daughter is the big paper crafter in our house. I do keep our old cards. I think one day she will discover them and recycle.

At one of my primary schools there was an after school Christmas Club. I made things like a flower press and calendars.

  7. I made the Christmas cards from us for a couple of years, but working against a deadline is really stressful for me. I do love yours. Very nice designs, Ulla!
    Merry Christmas!

  9. I won't be making Christmas cards this year. I used to make them when the kids were small, but once Laura left the house, I stopped.
I agree with Stephanie, that a handmade card is lovely small present
